The E postcode area
The E postcode area is the Eastern district of the London post town, one of the original London postal districts of the 1850s and numbered in 1917. It covers Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest almost entirely, most of Hackney and parts of Redbridge, and runs from Whitechapel and the City fringe out through Bow, Stratford and Leyton to Walthamstow and Chingford, taking in the Docklands and the Olympic Park. Most of the places listed below are in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney.
This is the most varied housing in the capital: Georgian and Victorian terraces in Spitalfields, Bow and Hackney, large council estates of every post-war decade, warehouse conversions and tall new towers in Docklands and Stratford, and inter-war and Edwardian streets in Leyton, Walthamstow and Chingford. Shared risers, flat roofs, balconies and converted upper floors make leak tracing between flats a large part of what we do here.
Each district below links to the places inside it, with the borough page named on the row. The same page is reached whether you search by postcode or by borough.

Common questions about the E postcode area
What if you cannot find a leak at my property in the E postcode area?
We say so in writing. A negative result (condensation, an old stain or a one-off spill) is reported as plainly as a leak, because that is often what an insurer or water company needs.
Can you find a leak under a floor or behind tiles in the E postcode area without breaking things?
That is what the instruments are for: thermal imaging, acoustic listening and moisture mapping narrow the search before anything is opened. We open up only where the evidence points, and we make good afterwards.
What kinds of property do you investigate in the E postcode area?
Houses, flats, converted buildings, blocks managed by agents, rented homes and commercial premises. The method is adjusted to the building; the written report is the same.
