The HA postcode area

The HA postcode area is named after Harrow and covers the whole of the London Borough of Harrow (Harrow, Wealdstone, Stanmore, Pinner, Hatch End and Harrow Weald) together with north east Hillingdon (Ruislip, Northwood, Eastcote), Wembley and Sudbury in Brent, and smaller parts of Barnet and Ealing. HA0 is Wembley, HA9 Wembley Park. Mail for the area is sorted at Greenford.

This is Metro-land: mile after mile of 1920s and 1930s semi-detached and detached houses built along the Metropolitan line, with Edwardian terraces nearer Harrow and Wembley and older cottages in Pinner and Harrow-on-the-Hill. Original tiled roofs, rendered elevations, bay windows and later loft and rear extensions are typical, and the junctions between old and new work are where many of the leaks we trace begin.
