The BR postcode area

The BR postcode area takes its name from Bromley and covers most of the London Borough of Bromley (Bromley itself, Beckenham, Orpington, Chislehurst, West Wickham, Hayes and Keston) with edges that reach into Lewisham, Bexley, Greenwich and Croydon. BR8 is Swanley, across the Kent boundary in Sevenoaks district, so the area sits across our London and Kent coverage.

Housing here is mostly suburban: inter-war semis and detached houses on the slopes between Bromley and Orpington, Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Beckenham and Shortlands, and newer flats close to the stations.
