The RH postcode area
The RH postcode area is named after Redhill and covers east Surrey (Redhill, Reigate, Dorking, Horley, Oxted, Lingfield and the Tandridge and Mole Valley villages) and north east West Sussex, including Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and East Grinstead, with Gatwick Airport in RH6. Mail for the area is sorted at Gatwick. Our team covers the Surrey districts and most of the Sussex ones.
North of the Downs the housing is largely Victorian and inter-war around Reigate, Redhill and Dorking; south of them the Weald clay carries older cottages, post-war estates in Crawley and Horsham, and newer developments around Horley, Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. Clay ground, timber-framed older buildings and the mix of ages in the Weald towns make damp investigations here varied.
Each district below links to the places inside it, with the council page named on the row.
Where the RH districts sit. Across the area Mid Sussex has places in RH10 to RH11, RH15 to RH17 and RH19; Horsham in RH11 to RH14 and RH20; Mole Valley in RH3 to RH6; Tandridge in RH1 and RH7 to RH9; Crawley in RH6 and RH10 to RH11; Reigate and Banstead in RH1 to RH2 and RH6, so the area straddles Sussex and Surrey. Royal Mail post towns across the area: Redhill, Reigate, Betchworth, Dorking, Gatwick, Horley, Lingfield, Oxted, Godstone, Crawley, Horsham, Billingshurst, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Forest Row, East Grinstead, Pulborough.
